About The161st Street Business Improvement District

Our Work

Large brown brick residential building with decorative architecture and trees in front, cars parked on the street, and clear blue sky.

Founded as the Capitol District Management Association in 2009, the 161st Street Business Improvement District (BID) was established to create a vibrant commercial corridor and enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives, works, visits, and shops on 161st Street in The Bronx. The BID focuses on keeping the streets clean, supporting local businesses, and enriching the neighborhood through special events and cultural programs.

Located in the heart of The Bronx Capitol District, the BID spans 161st Street and the surrounding area, right in the shadow of Yankee Stadium. Along with the stadium, the district is home to municipal buildings, recreation sites, community organizations, shops, restaurants, and local services.

To learn more and stay up-to-date on what’s happening in the district, be sure to follow the 161st Street BID on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
